The focus of my work is the West that endures—a blending of the West we live and the West of our imagination. I begin each painting by looking directly into the sun. Bold forms and iconic silhouettes are the centerpiece of my work, including high contrast images and scenes I chronicle while on location on ranches and rodeos. I incorporate historic patterns, imagery, and illustrations as I blend old and new, historic and contemporary, reminding us that our land – and life – is a continuum that is forever evolving.
My work is included in museum, corporate, and private collections nationwide and has been featured in top publications. I am represented by top galleries throughout the West. 2017 marks my third year at CFD; my painting “Belvidere” was featured in 2016 as the official show poster.
