After leaving my full-time work in the printing industry in 1989, I opened an art studio in Evergreen, CO, where I conducted workshops and regular art classes, and sold commissioned paintings and art supplies. The focus of my painting was telling stories using western settings and subjects, which caught the interest of a couple of galleries in Colorado. My ideas begin as small charcoal studies, then a small oil color sketch, and finally, a finished painting on stretched linen. In 2007, the Pearce Museum in Corsicana, TX purchased my painting, “Through the Slots.” Since that time, my work has been selected for exhibition and sale by the Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show and Sale, Night of Artists Show in San Antonio, TX, and Altermann Galleries in Santa Fe, NM.
