Howard Halbert

Born and raised in North Central Texas, I grew up on a large ranching operation which kept me away from my art for many years. A few years ago I picked up a pencil and began to draw again.

I chose western because of my background and the medium of graphite because I love the challenge of only darks and lights to work with.

I have been in such shows as The Mountain Oyster Club, Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Small Works Great Wonders where I won the Volunteer's Choice Award in 2016. My publications include Southwest Art Magazine and Cowboys & Indians May/June 2017 issue. My originals are represented by McLarry Fine Art, Santa Fe, NM.
