About the Show
How the Show Works
The Opening Reception kicks off with a sneak peak of the Carriage Hall filled with exclusive, never-before-shown art. Shortly after, you are transported to the Governor’s residence where the Governor and the First Lady host a cocktail party on the lawn, giving you a chance to mingle with the artists and enjoy the beautiful Wyoming outdoors. After the cocktail hour, you return the Museum where the real fun begins!
Art show attendees may submit completed “intent to purchase”* slips to our sales volunteers between the Art Show Preview and the beginning of the Sales Drawing at 7:30 pm on opening night. At 7:30 pm, the salesperson draws two names from the box for each piece. The first person drawn gets first chance to purchase; they have 20 minutes to complete the sale. If they do not complete the sale, the second person drawn gets the opportunity to purchase. Any piece not sold after the drawing is available on a first come first served basis. If this sounds too risky for you then please, by all means, 'Jump the Gun'.
*Submitting an “intent to purchase” slip does not guarantee you the ability to purchase.
Jump the Gun
If you see a piece during the Preview you have to have, you can skip the entire sales drawing by paying a premium price on any piece in the show starting at 6:00 pm. The Jump the Gun price is 25% over the artists listed price and paying this increase ensures that piece will go home with you after the show closes. You can Jump the Gun anytime between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. As this is a fundraiser, 30% of the artists' listed price is tax-deductible and if you Jump the Gun it increases to 38%.
