My brother-in-law is a fourth generation organic fruit grower on a 100-acre orchard in Western Colorado. Over the years of visiting the orchard I’ve seen the many seasons of farming...and in time, changes of its landscape. From “pushing” old growth sections of the fruit trees to erecting modern packaging facilities and planting new seedlings, there is a story that runs deep in the orchards soil.

There is a charm and long used history to the older clapboard buildings that dot the dirt roads of the acres. Captured against the pale blue sky of summer, this building has weathered the years, casting shadow on diesel tanks and a few retired fruit boxes. It’s ageing and timeless, a true testament to the history of American farming.
