Watching horses interact with each other is one of my favorite art processes. They way they group up, swish their tails, pin their ears back, and angle their head towards each other speak volumes about their social hierarchies. In this painting, I was trying to depict all of these particular cues, the resulting gestalt group of horses, and the detached horse trying to figure it all out.
