Jackson Hole in the winter is a different place than during its busy season. The crowds have gone and with them the bright greens of summer and beautiful golds and yellows of fall. What remains are cool tones of the mountains and the snow covered valley. Several years ago when traveling to Jackson for a gallery show in February we were treated to a bright sunny day upon our arrival. We watched a bull moose make his way through the snow effortlessly as if he were designed for winter snows. The next day we found him again and this time it was cloudy and the colors more subtle and yet, somehow richer. Once again his size and strength allowed him to move with ease as the snow began to softly fall— an image never to be forgotten.
